Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant for our partner HayPass to support the company's financial operations in the framework of a high-integrity national identity program. This role is central to ensuring compliance with Armenian tax law, managing international transactions, and upholding internal financial controls.

HayPass is the company which entered into public private partnership with the Armenian Government to implement the new biometric ID management infrastructure and ID card project.

HayPass will then operate the infrastructure and deliver ID Services to the Citizen of Armenia (on

behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) for the next 11 years.

Key Responsibilities

​

• Ensure full compliance with Armenian tax legislation, including preparation and submission of monthly and annual reports (VAT, profit tax, income tax, etc.).

• Manage accounting for imports, including customs documentation, VAT reclaim processes, and coordination with logistics and procurement.

• Oversee general ledger, month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Maintain up-to-date accounting records and documentation in line with local standards and IFRS (preferred).

• Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including audits.

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes in coordination with the Finance Manager.

• Ensure proper documentation for transactions, contracts, and interdepartmental payments.

• Supervise junior accounting team members and support onboarding of new team members when needed.

• Contribute to strengthening internal financial controls and workflows.

Key Requirements

​

• Extensive practical knowledge of Armenian tax law, including online reporting systems (e.g., e-Invoicing, E-Tax).

• Proven experience managing import-related accounting and working with customs and tax authorities.

• Strong understanding of IFRS and/or Armenian accounting standards.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., 1C, AS-Accountant, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage sensitive financial data with discretion.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ownership mindset.

• At least 3–5 years of experience in a similar accounting role is preferred.
