IT Infrastructure Administrator

We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Administrator for our partner HayPass who will be responsible for  the deployment, management, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure including Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory and patch management, with a focus on server hardware, virtualization platforms (VMware & Hyper-V). This role ensures infrastructure stability, scalability, and performance across physical and virtual environments, supporting mission-critical systems and applications

HayPass is the company which entered into public private partnership with the Armenian Government to implement the new biometric ID management infrastructure and ID card project.

HayPass will then operate the infrastructure and deliver ID Services to the Citizen of Armenia (on

behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) for the next 11 years.

Reporting Line: Reports to IT Manager

​

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

  • Install, configure, and maintain physical servers, storage systems, and related hardware.

  • Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMs) using VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.

  • Manage Active Directory (users, groups, OU structure, GPOs, authentication, etc.).

  • Administer DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.

  • Ensure data protection and business continuity through regular backup and restore operations using Veeam and by testing disaster recovery processes.

  • Perform hardware diagnostics, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.

  • Monitor health and performance for all servers, ensuring high availability and uptime.

  • Apply patches, updates, and firmware upgrades across infrastructure.

  • Ensure infrastructure meets security standards and compliance requirements.

  • Harden physical and virtual systems against unauthorized access and threats.

  • Implement role-based access controls, backups, and disaster recovery plans.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure topology, procedures, and configurations.

Optional Responsibilities

  • Provide support for network optimizations, including load balancing and VPN configuration.

  • Scale VMware infrastructures according to demand and system performance analysis

  • Automate provisioning and management of VMware/Hyper-V VMs using tools like Jenkins, Terraform or Ansible.

  • Collaborate with Network and Security teams to ensure seamless IT operations.

  • Automate administrative tasks and infrastructure provisioning using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and YAML, ensuring consistent and efficient infrastructure management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure administration, with strong exposure to Windows, Linux, and VMware/Hyper-V.

  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.

Optional Qualifications

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), 

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

  • Docker Certified Associate is a plus

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating systems

  • Active Directory, GPO, OU structures and authentications

  • Physical server and storage technologies (HP, NetApp etc.)

  • VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V

  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for integrating system components.

Optional Skills

  • ITIL, ISO 27001, GDPR knowledge and experience is a plus

  • Docker and Kubernetes administration knowledge is a plus

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and API management within containerized environments

  • Automation and deployment tools: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins etc.
