IT Infrastructure Administrator

We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Administrator for our partner HayPass who will be responsible for the deployment, management, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, with a focus on server hardware, virtualization platforms (VMware & Hyper-V), and container orchestration tools (Docker & Kubernetes). This role ensures infrastructure stability, scalability, and performance across physical and virtual environments, supporting mission-critical systems and applications.

HayPass is the company which entered into public private partnership with the Armenian Government to implement the new biometric ID management infrastructure and ID card project.

HayPass will then operate the infrastructure and deliver ID Services to the Citizen of Armenia (on

behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) for the next 11 years.

Reporting Line: Reports to IT Manager

Primary Responsibilities

 

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

• Manage Active Directory (users, groups, OU structure, GPOs, authentication, etc.).

• Administrate DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.

• Install, configure, and maintain physical servers, storage systems, and related hardware.

• Perform hardware diagnostics, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.

• Monitor performance for all servers, ensuring high availability and uptime.

• Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMs) using VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.

• Optimize resource allocation across virtual environments.

• Maintain VM templates, snapshots, and backups; perform migrations and patching.

• Deploy, manage, monitor and troubleshoot Docker containers and images.

• Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration.

• Apply patches, updates, and firmware upgrades across infrastructure.

• Automate routine infrastructure tasks using scripts or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Jenkins).

• Ensure infrastructure meets security standards and compliance requirements.

• Harden physical and virtual systems against unauthorized access and threats.

• Implement role-based access controls, backups, and disaster recovery plans.

• Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure topology, procedures, and configurations.

• Responsible for change management and configuration management.

• Provide Tier 2/3 support for infrastructure-related incidents and requests.

• Collaborate with Network and Security teams to ensure seamless IT operations.

Required Qualifications
 

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 3–5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration.

• Strong knowledge of:

        - Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating systems

        - Physical server and storage technologies (HP, NetApp, etc.)

        - VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V

        - Docker and Kubernetes

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments is a plus.

• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.

• Knowledge of principles and methods for integrating system components.

• ITIL and ISO 27001 knowledge and experience is a plus​​
