Maintenance Technician/Engineer

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician/Engineer for our partner HayPass who will be dedicated to the high-speed industrial printing machines and automated electromechanical

equipment for the production field. You will ensure high equipment availability through preventive and corrective maintenance, structured troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, working closely with production teams to minimize downtime and secure reliable operations.

HayPass is the company which entered into public private partnership with the Armenian Government to implement the new biometric ID management infrastructure and ID card project.

HayPass will then operate the infrastructure and deliver ID Services to the Citizen of Armenia (on

behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) for the next 11 years.

Primary Responsibilities​

Equipment maintenance & troubleshooting

• Participate in all required company and manufacturer trainings to maintain the skills needed.

• Perform precision calibrations and adjustments (alignment, feeding paths, sensor positions) to ensure stable operation and consistent output quality

• Perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance activities on the machines

• Diagnose failures and resolve breakdowns efficiently using a structured troubleshooting approach

• Execute repairs and authorized machine modifications in line with procedures and safety rules.

• Support new machine installation activities (commissioning support, ramp-up, validation checks).

Preventive maintenance & reliability

• Plan and execute PPM schedules and ensure they are operational and maintained.

• Ensure TPM routines are performed and properly scheduled with production.

• Proactively identify early warning signs and implement actions to prevent recurring issues.

• Develop and improve maintenance routines, checklists, and standard work as needed.

Performance, documentation & reporting

• Maintain and report on maintenance-related KPIs (availability, downtime, adherence to PPM, etc.).

• Ensure a complete and disciplined job handover between shifts/teams.

• Accurately record interventions, diagnostics, and outcomes in the maintenance system, including spare parts usage and maintenance history.

• Provide clear documentation to support traceability, audits, and knowledge transfer.

Coordination & continuous improvement

• Coordinate day-to-day activities, prioritizing tasks based on production impact.

• Liaise with production to minimize downtime and ensure clear ownership of maintenance actions.

• Escalate production-impacting issues promptly to the maintenance manager and communicate status updates clearly.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements (spares optimization, reduced repeat failures, improved routines).

• Maintain a clean, organized & safe working environment in accordance with guidelines.

Required Skills

• Ability for teamwork in a team with transparent information sharing 

• Ability to perform maintenance work and repairs and assist the team

• Willing to improve skills to maintain installed equipment with focus on electrical & electronic systems 

• Knowledge of Microsoft OS/ Office and computer skills

• Communication skills with the customer, internally and with the suppliers

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the related field

• Energetic and motivated person who can work with little guidance and also in a team

• Flexible working hours aligned with the project requirements

• Experience with precision Air-condition Systems and/or fire Extinguishing / prevention Systems

• Armenian & Good English language skills verbal and writing

• Valid driver’s license (Category B).

Required Qualifications

• Degree/diploma (or equivalent) in Electromechanical, Mechanical, Automation, or Industrial Maintenance (Bachelor level is sufficient; higher is a plus).

• 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance on high-speed electromechanical equipment, ideally in a production environment.

• Strong skills in:

• Electrical/electronic troubleshooting

• Mechanical adjustments and repairs

• Computer-controlled equipment / PLC-controlled systems

• Structured fault-finding and root cause analysis

• Ability to read technical documentation (manuals, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings).
