

Database Administrator
We are looking for a Database Administrator for our partner HayPass who will be responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing DB environments across Oracle (CDB/PDB, RAC), PostgreSQL, and SQL Server platforms. This role ensures high availability, compliance, and performance of critical data systems on both Linux and Windows operating systems. The DBA also plays a vital role in performance tuning, reporting, and enforcing regulatory and security compliance with company policies and standards.

HayPass is the company which entered into public private partnership with the Armenian Government to implement the new biometric ID management infrastructure and ID card project.
HayPass will then operate the infrastructure and deliver ID Services to the Citizen of Armenia (on
behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs) for the next 11 years.

Primary Responsibilities
DB Administration:
- 
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server DBs on Linux and Windows and virtualized environment. 
- 
Configure, optimize and maintain Oracle Multitenant Architecture (CDB/PDB) and RAC (Real Application Cluster) 
- 
Manage and monitor DB clusters, replication, and HA/DR environments 
- 
Manage DB objects (schemas, tables, views, indexes). 
- 
Perform DB upgrades, patching, and migrations. 
- 
Implement robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies 
 
Performance Tuning & Optimization
- 
Monitor and optimize DB performance using AWR, ASH, SQL Profiler, EXPLAIN plans, and system metrics. 
- 
Tune SQL queries, memory parameters, and I/O configurations. 
- 
Implement indexing strategies and partitioning for optimal performance. 
 
Security, Compliance & Auditing
- 
Enforce DB security best practices: access control, encryption, and auditing. 
- 
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g. ISO270001, GDPR, etc). 
- 
Maintain and review audit logs, access reports, and configuration baselines. 
 
Backup, Recovery & High Availability
- 
Perform regular backups as defined by policies and well-defined procedures. 
- 
Implement & manage RMAN, pgBackRest, native SQL Server backup strategies. 
- 
Design and test disaster recovery plans and recovery time objectives (RTOs). 
- 
Administer Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, and PostgreSQL replication. 
Monitoring & Reporting
- 
Set up DB monitoring using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, pgAdmin, 
- 
SQL Server Management Studio, or third-party tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus). 
- 
Generate regular reports on DB health, performance, capacity, and compliance. 
Automation & Scripting
- 
Automate administrative tasks using Shell scripting & PowerShell. 
- 
Write scripts for backups, health checks and routine maintenance.

Required Qualifications
 
- 
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field 
- 
3–5+ years of experience in DB Administration. 
- 
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL Server administration. 
- 
Hands-on experience with Oracle and RAC configuration & management 
- 
Proven track record in performance tuning, DR, and DB security. 
- 
Experience with cloud-based DB platforms (Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud Infra). 
- 
Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD integration for DB changes. 
- 
Excellent on documentation and change management practices. 
- 
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – 19c or later qualification is preferred. 
- 
PostgreSQL Certified Professional qualification is preferred. 
- 
Microsoft Certified: Azure DB Administrator Associate qualification is preferred.
