Chief Product and Marketing Officer

We are looking for a Chief Product and Marketing Officer (CPMO) for our partner company.

The CPMO is a strategic leader responsible for driving the company’s product vision, development, and marketing initiatives. This role requires a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset, balancing high-level strategy with day-to-day execution. The ideal candidate is not just a strategist but a doer, ready to roll up their sleeves and lead by example in both product innovation and market engagement.

Job Responsibilities

​

1. Product Vision & Strategy

  • Product Roadmap: Define and oversee the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals and market demands.

  • Market Fit: Continuously assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to ensure the product offerings remain relevant and competitive.

  • Innovation & Development: Spearhead product innovation, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, operations) to ensure timely and efficient product development.

  • User-Centric Design: Drive a user-centered product design approach, ensuring that customer feedback and insights are embedded in the product development process.
     

2. Strategic Marketing Planning

  • Market Research and Analysis: Actively engage in understanding market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes to inform both product development and marketing strategies.

  • Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and implement dynamic, results-driven marketing strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.

  • Budget Management: Manage the marketing and product budgets with precision, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI across all initiatives.
     

3. Brand Management

  • Brand Positioning: Define and consistently enhance the brand’s image, voice, and identity, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and aligns with the product vision.

  • Reputation Management: Proactively manage public perception, addressing challenges head-on and maintaining a positive brand association.

  • Corporate Communications: Develop clear, effective communication strategies for both internal and external audiences, including proactive crisis management.
     

4. Product Marketing & Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Product Positioning: Define and articulate the product’s unique value proposition, ensuring it meets market needs and differentiates from competitors.

  • Go-To-Market Strategy: Plan and execute impactful product launches and promotional strategies, closely collaborating with sales and product teams.

  • Customer Education: Develop customer education initiatives that promote product adoption and engagement, ensuring users understand the product’s benefits.
     

5. Customer Engagement & Experience

  • Customer Acquisition and Retention: Design and implement innovative strategies to attract and retain customers, fostering long-term loyalty.

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Lead CRM initiatives to deepen customer relationships, leveraging data and insights for personalized marketing and product enhancements.

  • Customer Feedback Loop: Establish systems for gathering and incorporating customer feedback into the product development cycle to improve user experience.
     

6. Digital Marketing & Product Growth

  • SEO, SEM, and PPC: Directly oversee and optimize online advertising efforts, ensuring effective use of SEO, SEM, and PPC strategies to drive traffic and conversions for both the product and brand.

  • Content Marketing: Create compelling content strategies, producing high-quality blogs, videos, and social media content that engage and convert audiences.

  • Email Marketing: Lead the development of email campaigns that drive engagement and conversions, utilizing A/B testing and data insights to tailor messaging.
     

7. Sales Enablement and Lead Generation

  • Aligning Marketing with Sales: Work closely with the sales team to ensure marketing and product strategies support their goals, providing essential tools and collateral.

  • Lead Generation: Develop and execute lead generation campaigns that deliver high-quality leads to the sales team, in alignment with product launches and market needs.
     

8. Data-Driven Product & Marketing Performance

  • Marketing & Product Analytics: Use data-driven insights to measure campaign effectiveness, making informed decisions to optimize future efforts in both product and marketing strategies.

  • Consumer Insights: Leverage analytics to understand market trends and consumer preferences, ensuring both product and marketing strategies are informed and adaptive.
     

9. Innovation and Technology

  • Marketing Automation & Product Tools: Implement and optimize marketing and product management tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Emerging Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to keep the company’s product and marketing efforts cutting-edge.
     

10. Public Relations (PR) and Events

  • Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with the press, bloggers, and influencers, proactively managing media coverage.

  • Event Marketing & Product Demos: Lead the planning and execution of events, from trade shows to product launches, ensuring they support both strategic marketing and product goals.
     

11. Partnerships and Alliances

  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate partnerships that enhance product development, brand visibility, and drive business growth.

  • Sponsorships & Alliances: Evaluate and manage sponsorship opportunities to maximize brand and product impact and ROI.
     

12. Leadership and Team Management

  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing product and marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, engineering, and IT teams to align product development and marketing efforts with broader business objectives.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

​

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Product Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree in marketing, product management, communications, or business is a strong plus.

  • At least 10 years of product and marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally within a tech or fast-paced industry.

  • Proven track record in developing and executing data-driven, high-impact marketing strategies that drive growth and customer engagement.

  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.

  • Strong expertise in developing and managing multi-channel marketing strategies, including traditional and digital platforms.

  • Proven ability to align marketing strategies with business goals, optimizing resources for maximum return on investment (ROI).

  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and grow a brand’s image, positioning, and reputation in a competitive market.

  • Experience in corporate communications, crisis management, and public relations.

  • Strong understanding of customer acquisition and retention strategies, with an emphasis on creating personalized and engaging experiences.

  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).

  • Familiarity with the latest trends in marketing technology, including automation and data analytics.

  • Experience aligning marketing strategies with sales objectives, ensuring effective lead nurturing and conversion processes.

  • Innovation and Growth Mindset:

  • Industry Engagement: Active participation in relevant industry events, conferences, and thought leadership platforms

  • Fluency in Armenian and English is essential. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
