Chief Engineer

On behalf of our esteemed partner, we are looking for a proactive and results-driven Chief Engineer to join the engineering team of the reputable brand hotel.

Job Description:

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and management of the hotel’s engineering systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role ensures that all systems function efficiently, are well-maintained, and meet safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, the Chief Engineer is responsible for training and developing the maintenance staff to ensure they are knowledgeable, skilled, and capable of performing their duties effectively.

Job Responsibilities​
 

• ​Lead and manage the engineering team, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.

• Serve as a role model for the maintenance team, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and a strong work ethic.

• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programs.

• Oversee the timely maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure proper functioning and safety.

• Conduct timely repair and maintenance (R&M) activities to address any issues promptly, ensuring that all systems are in optimal condition.

• Manage and execute renovation and repair projects, including coordination with contractors and vendors.

• Develop and manage the engineering department budget, including repair, maintenance, and equipment costs.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

• Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.

• Work closely with other hotel departments to support operations and guest satisfaction.

• Provide technical support and advice to other departments as needed.

• Coordinate with suppliers and service providers for procurement and service contracts.

• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations promptly.

• The Chief Engineer is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, safety standards, and environmental requirements.

• Ensure all engineering systems and maintenance activities align with the hotel's brand standards.

Required Qualifications

​

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Professional engineering certification is a plus.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management or engineering.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

• Languages: Fluency in Armenian and Russian, knowledge of English is a plus.
